	Partagas Partagas cigars are named for their founder, Don Jaime Partagas, who began manufacturing cigars in 1827. After his death in 1889, the Partagas brand passed to the legendary cigar master Ramon Cifuentes. Partagas cigars always deliver the richest taste yet never come on too strong. In keeping with that ideal, every Partagas is an invitation to savor the artistry it takes to bring you this cigar, from the richest of Cuban traditions to the richest of Cameroon wrappers. There is no doubt about the full-bodied and earthy, intense flavour of this line and it is still produced in the Partagas factory. Partagas cigars also won gold medals in at least three international expositions between 1867 and 1884.
	Montecristo Considered one of the finest cigars on the market today and one of Cuba's most recognizable brands, the Montecristo is a cigar blended for the true connoisseur. Montecristo's are rich, medium-bodied cigars with aromatic flavour, a distinctive peppery finish and are impeccably constructed. There are no machine-made shapes in this range. The brand started only in 1935 as a new brand from Menendez, Garcia y Cia., then the owners of the H. Upmann brand. The name is reported to have been inspired by Alexandre Dumas' 1844 novel Le Comte de Monte Cristo. With a strong marketing effort from Alfred Dunhill of London, this brand became the most popular of all Havana exports and is the standard by which all other Havanas are now judged.
	H. Upmann The H. Upmann brand dates back to 1844, when German banker Herman Upmann began using specially imprinted boxes of cigars as promotional items for his banking firm. Offering a mild to medium strength with a smooth flavor, this cigar is available in almost two hundred different handmade and machine-made sizes and shapes. The success of this brand was buoyed by the award of seven gold medals in seven international exhibitions between 1862 and 1893; these awards still adorn the lithographed interior of the box today.
